Rental Car coverage has always been an issue if we should pay for it, while on vacation.

Most car – rental agreements include liability coverage, which mean that drivers are covered if they damage property or injure someone. But the rental agreement doesn’t cover damage to the rented automobile.

If for some reason you hit a deer or back into a tree, you’re out of luck unless you have paid for a collision-damage waiver.  The rental company offers CDWs at a high cost – up to $20 a day.

The good news is that you may already have paid for collision coverage through your auto insurance or receive it as part of your agreement with your credit card issuer. Always check  with them before you rent and call your credit card issuer if that particular card holds rental coverage.

Make sure that you find out about any limitations, such as the maximum number of day for which the rental car will be covered. Based on my experience I did call my card issuer and they will disclose the coverage with you and it may include baggage coverage as well. But always confirm any coverage will the issuer.

Hawaii has many beautiful attractions to see, on each island.  And you will view this with over a million permanent residents along with many visitors and U.S. military personnel.

Its capital is Honolulu on the island of Oʻahu.

The state encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian Island chain, which comprises hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles (2,400 km).

At the southeastern end of the archipelago, the eight “main islands” are (from the northwest to southeast) Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, Maui, and Hawaiʻi. The last is by far the largest and is often called “The Big Island” to avoid confusion with the state as a whole.

A little history on the islands.  And now I will share my information on how some of the islands we visited and the lovely attractions we encountered while we were vacationing on three different islands – Maui, Hilo and Honolulu.

First island, Maui’s wide variety of landscapes resulted from a unique combination of geology, topography, and climate. Other significant towns include Kīhei, Lahaina, Makawao, Pāʻia, Kula, Haʻikū, Hāna, Kāʻanapali, and Kapalua.

Second Island we visited: Hilo, Hawaii - Hawaiʻi is said to have been named for Hawaiʻiloa, the legendary Polynesian navigator who first discovered it.
